In the summer of 1993, Nejat participated in an expedition to practice field biology on a research ship based in Palmer Station, Antarctica. He studied krill. A plaque at the station commemorates his membership in the “Penguin Club” – those who took a dip into the icy water. He was looking forward to returning in summer 1994. |
